Miele Dryer Recall 2018 — Lint Accumulation Fire Risk
Hazard: The lint filter housing allows a small amount of lint to bypass the primary filter during each cycle. Over hundreds of cycles, lint accumulates on the heat exchanger surface. When lint buildup reaches a critical mass, it can ignite during high-temperature drying cycles. Miele received 3 reports of smoldering lint.
Remedy: Free in-home installation of a secondary lint trap behind the primary filter and a professional cleaning of the heat exchanger. Miele factory technician performs the service, which takes approximately 45-60 minutes.
