Oven over-temperature

An over-temperature condition is a fire hazard. Do not use the oven until the cause is identified and repaired. Turn off the circuit breaker as a safety measure.
Turn off the oven at the circuit breaker immediately when this code appears
Allow the oven to cool completely (1-2 hours) before diagnosis
Test the oven temperature sensor resistance: should read approximately 1080 ohms at room temperature
Check for a stuck relay on the ERC that keeps the bake or broil element powered continuously
Inspect the sensor wire harness for shorts to the oven cavity wall
Pro Diagnostic Tip
F2 is a safety code — the oven exceeded its programmed temperature limit (typically 650F during bake, 1000F during self-clean). If the sensor reads correctly at room temp but the oven still overheats, the ERC bake relay is welded closed. This is the same failure mode as the dryer F4E1 — a stuck relay keeps the element on regardless of temperature.
