Door latch / oven over-temp

If the oven has overheated, do not open the door. Turn off the circuit breaker and allow the oven to cool for at least 2 hours. A stuck heating relay is a fire hazard — do not restore power until the fault is diagnosed.
If the oven is excessively hot, turn off the circuit breaker and allow it to cool completely before investigating — do not open the door if the oven is above 500F
Check the oven temperature sensor (RTD probe) mounted inside the oven cavity at the top rear — test resistance: approximately 1080 ohms at room temperature (77F)
Inspect the door latch mechanism — if F2 appeared during self-clean, the latch motor may have failed to engage before the oven reached cleaning temperature
Check the door latch switch — the oven must detect the door locked before enabling self-clean temperatures above 550F
If the oven over-temped (exceeded 590F during bake), the temperature sensor or the control board relay may be stuck, causing continuous heating
Pro Diagnostic Tip
LG ProBake Convection ovens position the heating element at the rear rather than the bottom. If F2 triggers as over-temp, the convection fan may have stopped (check fan motor), causing localized overheating at the sensor location near the rear element.
