Answer first
On a Winson compact refrigerator, leaking water usually comes down to a door gasket that no longer seals, with blocked or frozen defrost drain next. Work out where the water appears first, because that single observation removes half the list before you touch anything.
What you actually observe
- Water on the floor in front of the cabinet — It appears overnight, or a few hours after the door was last opened.
- Water under the crisper drawers, or ice across the freezer floor

Causes, most likely first on this platform
- A door gasket that no longer seals — First on a compact import cabinet. The gasket is the thinnest part of a thin cabinet, it hardens early, and the moisture it lets in condenses immediately.
- Blocked or frozen defrost drain — Second, because the trough on a small evaporator is narrow and plugs with very little debris.
- Ordinary condensation, not a fault — Third: in a humid room a cabinet with modest insulation sweats, and that is not a fault to be repaired.
- Cracked, displaced or overfull drain pan — Fourth, and worth a look mainly because moving the cabinet to check anything else will tip a full one.
Check in this order, and why that order
- Close the door on a sheet of paper and pull it out, all the way round — Anywhere the paper slides out freely is a place warm air is getting in. It goes first: top-ranked above, and free to rule out.
- Empty the freezer floor and look for a sheet of ice over the drain trough — Ice at the back of the freezer floor confirms the drain before anything is taken apart. Second: the next cause in the ranking, and this check separates it from the first.
- Note where the water is and what the room is doing — Water on the outside of a glass door in a humid room is condensation, and there is nothing inside the cabinet to fix. Third, once both checks above come back clean.
What an owner can safely check
- Test the gasket with a sheet of paper at several points around each door — Mark the places where the paper pulls out easily; a gasket that fails in one corner only is often just distorted rather than worn out.

- Clear the freezer, shut the door and let the cabinet stand unpowered until the ice is gone — No tools beyond towels. If the leak stops for a week afterwards and then returns, the drain is the fault and it needs clearing properly.

- Wipe the cabinet dry, then watch where water reappears and when — Water that returns only on humid days, or only after the door has been open, is condensation rather than a leak.

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Leave the door switch wired as it is and do not defeat it to watch something run. If you find oil outside the tubing, stop: the sealed system is open, and refrigerant work is licensed work.
Where an owner check ends
Call once the drain, the seal and the pan are all clear and water is still arriving, because what is left is behind a panel. Call straight away if water is reaching the compressor compartment or the unit trips a breaker, and stop using it until it has been looked at.
