What you actually observe
- The cabinet is warm but the unit is clearly running — You can hear the compressor; the air inside is not cold.
- It never switches off — It runs without ever satisfying its thermostat, which is the same fault seen from the other side.
- One part of the cabinet is cold and another is not — That is an airflow pattern rather than a cooling failure.
- NEAR MISS: the unit is silent and nothing is cold at all — That is a no-power or start-relay fault and it belongs on a different page.
Causes, most likely first on this build
- A cabinet packed past its vents — Cold air has to circulate for a cabinet to hold temperature. Ranked first on a Vida: a second fridge is asked to do a first fridge's job, and the load it is given is the first thing that does not match the cabinet.

Call once the clearance, the coil, the gasket and the load inside are all clean and the cabinet still will not hold its band, or the moment the fault is on the sealed system: refrigerant work is licensed and the tools for it are not owner tools. Call immediately if you smell burning, or see oil around the compressor, because oil outside the tubing means the system is open and every hour it runs after that costs more to put right.
