Treat a warm or misted console as a reason to stop
Condensation visible behind the display, buttons that respond erratically only during or just after a cycle, or a console that feels warm are all signs of moisture reaching electronics. Isolate the appliance at the breaker rather than continuing to run it, because water and a mains-fed control panel are not a combination to test repeatedly.
