The short answer
On an Indel B refrigerator, an ice maker that has stopped producing is usually a freezer too warm to release ice rather than a failed ice-maker module. Second, and worth checking in the same hour, is a frozen fill tube. The top of that list is owner work; only the last cause needs a technician.
What you are looking at
- The bin is empty and stays empty — No cubes arrive over a full day with the maker switched on.
- Cubes are small, hollow or misshapen — The maker is cycling but the fill is short.
- There is an ice plug at the back of the compartment — Water froze before it reached the mold.
- NEAR MISS -- the dispenser works but no ice arrives — Water at the door proves the supply; the fault is past the valve.
Causes, most likely first on this kind of unit
- The freezer is not cold enough to harvest — An ice maker will not release a harvest until the mold reaches its release temperature. Ranked first on an Indel B mobile unit in moving hot air: on this kind of cabinet the freezer is the marginal part, so temperature comes before any part swap.
- The fill tube or the fill cup is frozen — A slow fill dribbles and refreezes at the tube mouth until the path closes. This rank, because an ice plug at the tube mouth stops the water before the maker ever sees it.
- The maker is switched off, or the bin is not seated — A bail arm resting on ice, a bin pushed in crooked, or an off switch left from a previous fill all stop production with nothing broken anywhere. This rank, because a maker that thinks the bin is full does exactly this.

- Look for an ice plug at the fill tube — Thaw it with warm water and watch the next fill; a repeat plug means the supply is too slow.
- Only after water and temperature are proven — Cubes frozen solid in the mold with a cold freezer and good fill is the signature -- and that is a service call.

- Lift the bail arm, clear and re-seat the bin — Then switch the maker on and note the time; a harvest takes hours, not minutes.
