Look for a flashing clock as evidence of an interruption
A clock flashing or showing an obviously wrong time is a record of a power event, and it is often the only one you will get. If that appears together with a cycle that ended early, the appliance almost certainly did not fail. Set the clock, restart, and see whether the cycle completes when nothing interrupts it.

- The cycle ended early and the clock is flashing — The clearest available evidence of a supply interruption.
- Other clocks in the house are also flashing — Confirmation that the event affected the whole supply and not just this appliance.
- It happens when a heavy appliance elsewhere starts — A voltage dip rather than a full outage, and it is repeatable.
- A repeat cycle runs to completion with nothing else happening — It exonerates the appliance.
- Cycles end early with the clock unaffected — Not an interruption, and a different diagnosis.
- NEAR MISS: a cook time expiring as set — The oven doing what it was told rather than being interrupted.

- A brief supply interruption — First. It is short enough to miss, long enough to reset the control, and it leaves a flashing clock as its only trace.

Call an electrician if the supply is dipping repeatedly when other appliances start, since that is an installation question. Call an appliance technician if cycles end early with the clock unaffected and no timer set. Say whether the clock was flashing: it is the single most useful observation and it distinguishes the two cases.
