- Fan control or an inverter whine — Second most likely here: it is last because it is rare and cannot be confirmed without instruments. Replacement parts come through the seller rather than off a local shelf, so a confirmed diagnosis matters more here than it does on a mainstream brand: you do not want to order twice.
- Internal fan touching frost, on a frost-free build — Less often, third: a fan running in the coldest part of the cabinet picks up frost on its blade or shroud, which turns a quiet fan into a tick or a screech.

- Rock the cabinet, check every foot, and look for tubing contact — A pipe touching the case can often be eased clear by hand with the power off.
- Record the sound and exactly when it happens — A tone that tracks the compressor rather than a fan is worth describing carefully.
- Open the door and listen for the noise to change — Most builds stop that fan with the door open, which makes the test decisive.
