The short answer
When an Elisii dryer will not start, the usual cause is no supply at the socket, or a tripped breaker, with a door that is not making its switch next. What you actually observe
- Nothing lights and nothing happens at all — A completely dead machine is a supply question before it is a machine question.
- It hums but the drum does not turn — A hum means the motor has power, so something is stopping the drum or the belt has gone.

Safety
Unplug the dryer or switch off its breaker before opening a panel or reaching into the drum: a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never run the machine with the door switch defeated. Lint is fuel, so keep the filter and the duct clear. If the machine is gas and you smell gas, do not switch anything on or off, leave the building and call the gas utility or your emergency number from outside.
When to call a technician
Call once the socket, the door, the controls and the tank are all clean and the machine still does nothing, because what is left is the belt, the fuse or the motor and all of them mean the cabinet open. Call immediately if the machine trips the breaker the moment it is plugged in, or if there is any burning smell: a dryer that trips its supply should stay off.
