The short version
An E Euhomy refrigerator that hums away without getting cold is usually failing to move its cold air rather than failing to make it, and that is good news: most of the causes are owner-checkable. The ranking below is ordered for this class of unit, and only the last cause on it needs a technician.
The symptoms, including the ones that mean something else
- Condensation collects on the shelves or around the door — Warm moist air is getting in from somewhere.
- The behaviour changes with how full the reservoir is — A hand-filled machine is sensitive to its water in a way a plumbed one is not.
- NEAR MISS: water is pooling under the crisper drawers — A blocked defrost drain is a different fault with a page of its own.
Causes in order of likelihood on this brand
- A condenser coil blanketed in dust or standing in its own heat — The coil can only shed heat into air that moves. Ranked first on an E Euhomy refrigerator: a countertop maker in a warm room makes thin ice and then melts it again, which is behaviour rather than a fault.
- A packed cabinet, a warm load or a door being opened to check — Air has to circulate to carry heat to the evaporator. Ranked second on an E Euhomy refrigerator: these are filled and emptied by hand many times a day, and how that is done explains most complaints.
- A door seal that no longer pulls the door shut — A gasket that has taken a set, or a door that no longer sits square, lets a thin stream of room air in continuously. Ranked third on an E Euhomy refrigerator: this is checked with a sheet of paper and no tools at all.
- A dead evaporator fan — The fan behind the freezer wall moves cold air into the fresh-food compartment. Ranked fourth on an E Euhomy refrigerator: moving parts wear on a predictable timetable, so this arrives later than the causes above it, though it does arrive.
What to check first, second and third
- Feel the condenser at the back or underneath and look at how clear it is — A coil that is hot and dusty is the cheapest cause on this list.
- Look at whether the internal vents are covered by food — The vents are usually at the back of the top shelf and at the back of the freezer.
- Close the door on a sheet of paper and pull it out at several points around the frame — Anywhere the paper slides out freely is a gap.
The checks you can make yourself
- Pull the unit out, vacuum the condenser coil and clear the space around it — Leave the clearance the manufacturer asks for at the back and the sides.
Tools: vacuum, soft brushAbout 25 min
- Clear the internal vents, leave a gap around them and then stop opening the door to check — Every opening costs cold air that the unit has to make again.
About 10 min
- STOP HERE if the next step needs a meter on live terminals or a panel off — That is where an owner check ends and a service call begins.
Safety first
Safety
Unplug the unit or switch off its breaker before removing any panel: a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Refrigerant work is licensed work, so never cut, bend or solder the tubing, and never run the unit with the sealed system open. A loaded refrigerator is heavy and top-sided, so get help to move it rather than walking it on a corner.
When this becomes a service call
Call once the coil, the seal and the airflow are all clean and the cabinet still will not hold, because what is left is a fan, a sensor or the sealed system and two of those need a meter. Call immediately if you see oil around the compressor or smell burning: oil outside the tubing means the system is open, and every hour it runs after that costs more to put right.

What is deliberately not here
This page is written for the E Euhomy refrigerator as a class, not for one family or model line. Shelf layouts, defrost-control types, fan placement and part numbers all change from build to build and are deliberately not here. Where a family- or model-specific page exists for your unit, it is the more specific answer and the one to read first.
