A control or display complaint on a Cuisinart freezer is usually a report rather than a failure. - Control lock or a mode set by accident — Every panel has a lock, and several have a fast-freeze or holiday mode that changes behaviour without explaining itself.
- Control board failed — It becomes the sensible answer only when supply, inputs and modes have all been eliminated in order.
What to check first, second, third
- Unplug for several minutes and restore, then watch the panel come back — First — It clears the most common cause at no cost and tells you immediately whether the fault is persistent.
- Operate the switch by hand and watch the interior light and the alarm follow it — Second — The light is a free window onto what the control believes about the door.
- Leave a thermometer in the compartment overnight and compare it with the display — Third — It is the only check that tells you whether the number on the panel can be trusted at all.
