The short answer
A Crzoe refrigerator that runs without cooling is almost never the compressor, whatever the noise suggests. On this class the fault is usually an ambient temperature outside what the unit was designed for, with blocked clearance or recirculated warm air around the cabinet next to rule out, and both are visible to an owner in minutes.
What you actually observe
- Drinks are cool but never cold, in a warm room — A cooler working to specification in the wrong room looks exactly like a broken one.
- The cabinet is warm while the unit is clearly running — The compressor hum is there and the air inside is not cold, which rules out a dead unit immediately.
- NEAR MISS: only the ice maker has stopped while the food stays cold — That is an ice-production fault and it is a separate page with a separate cause list.
The causes, most likely first on this brand
- An ambient temperature outside what the unit was designed for — Cooling capacity is specified against a room temperature band. Ranked first on a Crzoe unit: a beverage cooler is specified to hold a drinks temperature in a normal room, not a food temperature in a warm one, so the room is checked before the unit.

Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the unit or switch off its breaker before any panel comes off: a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Leave the door switch wired as it is, because it cuts the fan for a reason. Never chip ice off an evaporator with a tool, since the refrigerant tubing runs directly behind it.
When to call a technician
Call once the owner checks come back clean, or the moment the evidence points at the sealed system: refrigerant work is licensed work. Call immediately if you smell burning or see oil at the compressor, because that means the system is open and every further running hour makes the repair worse. Bear in mind when you decide that parts for a value import are not stocked locally and a replacement unit can cost less than a part plus a labour call.
