The short answer
Water from a Contoure refrigerator is usually water the cabinet made on purpose that then went the wrong way, rather than water escaping from a pipe. On this class the usual cause is an outside drain tube blocked, kinked or routed uphill, with a cabinet tilted so water runs forward instead of draining next to rule out, and both are owner checks.
What you actually observe
- Water on the floor inside the coach and a dry outlet outside — The condensate is not getting out, and that is the whole diagnosis.
- Water that appears once a day and then stops — A leak on a schedule is a defrost cycle or an ice maker fill.
- NEAR MISS: the cabinet is warm as well as wet — Then cooling is the primary fault and the leak is a symptom of it, so read the cooling page first.
The causes, most likely first on this brand
- An outside drain tube blocked, kinked or routed uphill — Ranked first on a Contoure unit: a coach cabinet drains to the outside through a tube that is crushed behind joinery more often than anything else on this list.
- A cabinet tilted so water runs forward instead of draining — Defrost water only finds its drain if the cabinet sits at the slight backward tilt it was designed for, and a unit shimmed the wrong way sends it out of the door. - Shut a sheet of paper in the door and pull it out, working all four sides — A sheet that slides free marks a dead length of seal, and the corners give out before the faces do.
What an owner can safely check
- Clear the outside access panel and check the tube runs downhill with no kink in it — Road debris and insect nests both find that outlet.

Unplug the unit or switch off its breaker before any panel comes off or the cabinet is moved, and remember a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Water on a floor beside a powered appliance is a shock risk, so deal with the power before the puddle. Close the supply shut-off before disturbing any plumbing fitting.
When to call a technician
Call once the drain, the pan and the seal are all clean and the water is still arriving, because a weeping valve or a split liner needs the cabinet stripped. Call sooner if the water is near an outlet or has reached flooring that will not dry, since that damage outruns the repair. Bear in mind when you decide that an RV appliance is serviced by RV dealers rather than by household appliance technicians, and the warranty usually runs through the dealer who sold the coach.
