The short answer
A Contoure cabinet that has stopped producing ice is more often obeying something than failing at it, whether that is a raised arm, a warm setting or a specification that never included freezing. On this class the usual cause is a single thermostat dial set too warm to freeze, with warm air recirculating around a closed-in cabinet next to rule out.
What you actually observe
- It froze fine at home and not on the trip — The stocking run before the trip is usually why.
- Cubes are welded into one mass in the bin — That is ice that was made and then part-thawed, which is a temperature story.
- NEAR MISS: water appears under the cabinet as well as no ice — A supply or drain leak changes the order of work, and the leak page covers it.
The causes, most likely first on this brand
- A single thermostat dial set too warm to freeze — On a cabinet with one dial for both compartments, a setting chosen for the fresh-food side leaves the freezer section short of freezing. Ranked first on a Contoure unit: a single control on a compact coach cabinet is always a compromise between two compartments.
- Warm air recirculating around a closed-in cabinet — A unit that cannot shed heat loses its coldest capability first, and the freezing section is always the first thing to go. Ranked second here: a sidewall installation gives the unit exactly the air the installer left it and no more.

- Feel the exhaust at the grille and check the gap behind and above the cabinet — Exhaust much warmer than the room in a tight space is the whole answer.
- Count what went into the compartment in the last day — A section that froze fine last week and not this week has usually been asked for more.

- Move the dial one step colder and give it a full day — Ice that appears on the colder setting means the cabinet is working and the setting was wrong.

Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the unit or switch off its breaker before any panel comes off, and close the water shut-off before disturbing any fitting on the supply line. Never thaw a fill tube with a heat gun or an open flame, because the liner and the tubing behind it will not survive it. Never chip ice from a plate or a mould with a tool.
When to call a technician
Call once the supply, the temperature and the simple mechanical checks are all clean, because a fill valve or an ice maker module needs a meter and a panel off. Call sooner if you find water where it should not be, since a supply fault that leaks costs more the longer it runs. Bear in mind when you decide that an RV appliance is serviced by RV dealers rather than by household appliance technicians, and the warranty usually runs through the dealer who sold the coach.
