What this means on these models
Ice on the Comfee CRM platform depends on two things: water arriving, and a compartment cold enough to freeze it — and cold is the weaker of the two on these models. Whether your model fills itself or you fill it decides which half of this page applies. Slow ice is the first symptom of a cold-side problem, which is why it is worth chasing rather than tolerating.
The observable signs on this platform
- The whole compartment has lost its edge — A freezer holds food safely at 0 °F (−18 °C) or below; a compartment above that will always struggle for ice.
- A cycle that runs without result — Power it down before the motor burns out trying against the ice.
- Melt water refreezing below the maker — That is an overfill or a leaking mould, and it will eventually seize the mechanism.
- No ice at all, no sound from the module — Listen over a full day before concluding — a compact module cycles rarely.
- NEAR MISS — water runs out of the cabinet — Leaks trace to the supply line, the drain or the defrost path.
Ranked causes for these models
- Shut-off arm or sensor reading full — On compact models the bin sits tight against the arm, so it takes very little to hold it up.
- Compartment running too warm to freeze properly — Top of the list by frequency — and it is also the cause that owners are least likely to suspect when the bin goes empty.
- The water path closed off — Second or third on plumbed models: the tube sits in the cold compartment, and any slow fill leaves water in it to freeze.
- Low pressure at the inlet valve — A valve needs pressure to open fully, and a restricted supply produces small cubes before it produces none.
What to check first, second, third
- Measure the compartment before touching the mechanism — It is first because temperature is the common cause of all the signs above.
- Unpack the compartment and look at the air path — Second because it takes five minutes and a blocked vent produces slow ice with everything else in order.
- Lift and lower the arm to see the mechanism respond — If the arm is held up by the bin, nothing downstream will ever run.

Safety
Unplug the refrigerator or switch off its breaker before removing any cover; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Check the frozen food before you chase the ice: a freezer holds food safely at 0 °F (−18 °C) or below, and soft food means the fault is bigger than the ice maker. A line that has been kinked once is likely to split when straightened.

When to call a technician
The line is the cold side: if the compartment cannot freeze, the ice maker is a symptom. Call the same day for any leak that reaches the floor or the wall behind the unit.
