Straight answer first
On the Comfee AM platform, the door carries the seal, the latch and the interlock switches and a fault in any one shows up as the same complaint. That is not caution for its own sake — containment depends on it. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — though nothing here needs a panel removed.
What you actually observe
- Blackening where the door meets the cabinet — Check the waveguide cover too — the two often go together.
- A cycle with no warmth — Check the door closes squarely and that nothing is on the frame.
- Visible damage to the door — That ends the assessment: do not use it.
- It only latches on the second try — Start with debris — the latch recess and door face collect grease.
- The cycle continues on opening — There is no owner check for this — the interlock chain has failed.
- NEAR MISS — uneven heating with a still turntable — Lift the tray and clean the roller ring and the coupler.
What it usually turns out to be, in order
- The catch not holding — The part is inexpensive; on a compact machine the labour usually decides it.
- Debris in the latch or on the door face — Ruling it out first also prevents forcing a door that is merely dirty.
- Alignment lost at the hinge — Hinges drop from wear, from impact, or from the door being leaned on.
- Interlock switches not confirming — Named here because it turns a door fault into a heating complaint, which confuses the diagnosis.
- Physical damage to the containment — Cracks, dents in the perforated screen and a bent frame all end the assessment.
The order to work in
- Confirm the machine cuts off on opening — First, because a machine that keeps running with the door open has no further diagnosis.
- Check for visible damage — Damage overrides everything else below.
- Wash both faces with a damp cloth — The most common cause and the cheapest fix — debris is usually the answer.
- Look for a gap at one corner — An even line means the alignment is right; a corner gap means the hinge has dropped.
- Look at the protective panel inside — Cheap to replace, and easily missed.
