Causes, most likely first on this family

Check in this order, and why
- Note exactly where the cycle stops — Fill, wash, drain or spin. The step is the diagnosis, and a complaint that does not include it cannot be narrowed by anyone.
- Open the drain filter — A machine that will not spin because it has not drained is a blockage wearing a timing costume. This check takes minutes and it removes the second most common cause.
- Check the taps, the hoses and the inlet screens — A slow fill stretches or abandons a cycle, and it leaves the laundry barely wet. Both taps fully open and a hose with no kink in it are the baseline.
- Watch whether the stopping point is consistent — A fault that always stops at the same step is a condition the machine cannot satisfy; one that stops at different steps points at the lock or the control, which is where the service call starts.

Do not force a locked door on a machine that still holds water — the lock is holding it for that reason.
