The short answer
Frost that keeps returning in a Candor means either a door seal admitting humid air or a defrost system that is not clearing it. Check the seal, the door closing and the drain first. Frost that rebuilds within days of being cleared, with a sound seal, points at the defrost heater or its sensor. There is no ice maker here.
What you observe
- Frost behind the interior rear panel — On an auto-defrost cabinet that is a fault rather than a chore.
- Frost along one edge of the door opening — The seal is open along that edge and nowhere else.

- Water or ice in the drain channel — A blocked drain preventing the defrost clearing.

Causes, most likely first on this brand
- A door seal that is not sealing — First. A hardened corner, a shelf holding the door proud or a seal knocked in transit admits humid air continuously, which is far more than a defrost cycle was sized to clear.
- A door not closing fully — Second, and distinct from the seal. A cabinet not level, or one with a heavy load in the door, can leave the door resting rather than shut.
- A blocked defrost drain — Third. Melt that cannot get away refreezes in the channel, so each defrost leaves more ice than it clears.
- A defrost heater, sensor or timing fault — Fourth. This is the cause that frost returning quickly actually points to, and it is service work rather than an owner check.
- Vents blocked or the cabinet overfilled — Last. Blocked airflow concentrates frost in one place and hides what the defrost is really doing.

- Note where frost forms — Frost maps the gap it came through.
- Close the door on a slip of paper — It should drag all the way round, including the hinge side.
- Check the cabinet is level and the door swings shut — A door resting rather than closing is easy to miss.

Safety
Unplug the refrigerator before clearing frost or the drain. Never chip ice off an interior surface with a knife or a screwdriver, because the evaporator sits directly behind that panel and a puncture ends the appliance. Do not use a heat gun or boiling water; room air and time are the safe method. Move food to a cool box, and discard anything that has thawed rather than refreezing it.
When to call a technician
Call when the seal drags on paper, the door closes on its own, the drain runs clear and frost still returns within days. That pattern points squarely at the defrost heater, its sensor or its timing. Say how quickly the frost rebuilds when you book, because on an automatic-defrost cabinet the speed of the rebuild is the most useful single fact.
