The short answer
This model group groups the ranges listed below. This page names what goes wrong on them and routes onward; the gas-smell case is the exception, because there the instruction is not to diagnose.
What goes wrong, and where each is covered
- A smell of gas — Do not switch anything on or off. Leave the building and call the gas utility from outside. See the brand-generic gas range article for that fault.
- A surface burner will not light — Clicking without ignition usually means a wet igniter or a burner cap seated wrong after cleaning. See the brand-generic gas range article for that fault.
- Oven door not sealing — A dropped hinge or hardened gasket costs heat and shows up as slow, uneven cooking. See the brand-generic gas range article for that fault.
Problem classes by frequency
- Ignition faults — The largest group: igniters meet spills and moisture, and burner caps are removed for cleaning more often than any other part.
- Burner and flame-quality faults — Second. Blocked ports and displaced caps give yellow or uneven flames, usually after a cleaning rather than a failure.
- Gas-system faults — Smallest and most serious. A smell of gas is an evacuation, not a diagnosis.
Before you open anything
Safety
If you smell gas: do not switch anything on or off, leave the building, and call the gas utility or emergency services from outside. Do not look for the leak yourself. Otherwise shut the gas valve and the breaker before removing any panel, and never bypass a flame-sensing or safety valve.

Owner job or service call
The owner side is drying and re-seating a burner cap, clearing ports and keeping igniters clean. The oven igniter, the safety valve, the thermostat and anything at a gas connection are licensed work.
