The short answer
The UL family covers the models in the table below. On cabinets of this kind two faults dominate: a loss of cooling that starts as an airflow problem, and water on the floor that starts at a blocked defrost drain.
What goes wrong, and where each is covered
- Running but not cooling — The cabinet hums and the food is warm. A refrigerator holds food safely at 40 °F (4 °C) or below. Covered in full on this family's page for that fault. — Slug: broich-broich-refrigerator-ul-refrigerator-cooling-failure
- Ice maker making nothing, or hollow cubes — Empty bin or small cubes. Usually water supply or freezer temperature, not the module. Covered in full on this family's page for that fault. — Slug: broich-broich-refrigerator-ul-refrigerator-ice-production
- Tripping a breaker, or a burning smell — Isolate the circuit and stop using it. See the brand-generic refrigerator article for that fault.
Problem classes by frequency
- Airflow and defrost faults — The largest group: frost closing the evaporator, a stalled fan, a blocked drain. All begin quietly and are reported late. The series is recorded with a wildcard, so suffix builds exist that this ranking cannot separate; treat the order as the series average and let what you actually hear and feel override it.
- Water-path faults — Supply lines, valves, fill tubes and drains — leaks and ice-maker complaints, and the cheapest group to repair.
- Sealed-system and compressor faults — Smallest group, most expensive, licensed work — the reason every page beneath checks the air side first.

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Refrigerant work is licensed work.

Where the faults sit
General guidance| Area of the machine | Relative share of faults |
|---|---|
| Evaporator, defrost and airflow | most reported |
| Water path — supply, valve, drain | frequently reported |
| Sealed system and compressor | least reported |

Owner job or service call
The owner side ends at the sealed system and at anything behind the freezer rear panel. A door seal, a defrost drain, a water filter and the condenser are owner jobs.
