- A rattle or ticking that comes and goes — Intermittent and usually worst at the start of a cycle: something loose, not something worn.

Causes, most likely first on a Bosch dryer

- Check pockets and the lint trap housing for coins and hardware — Small metal objects migrate past the filter and end up where the air is fastest. Second: it separates the next two causes.
- Reach into the gap at the bottom front of the drum — With the power off, sweep the lip: coins and underwires sit exactly there. Third: only once the checks above are clean.
