The short answer
These are built-in cabinets, and that decides the shape of the fault list. Installation, trim and airflow appear in complaints that would have nothing to do with the cabinet on a countertop appliance. Read the plate inside the door frame first: this designation covers more than one cabinet and the parts are not common across all of them.
What owners of these models bring in
- The door will not seal against the frame — Usually the surround rather than the seal. Covered under Door, Latch and Seal Problems.
- The appliance is completely dead — The supply you cannot reach is the first suspect. Covered under Will Not Start.
- It runs but nothing gets hot — Airflow and settings before anything expensive. Covered under Runs but Does Not Heat.
- Burning smells or a tripping breaker — Urgent inside cabinetry. Covered under Sparks, Burning Smell or a Tripped Breaker.
Problem classes on EC models
- Installation and surround — A cabinet that has moved, or an appliance drawn up unevenly, distorts the frame the door meets.
- Door hardware — Latch hooks and the switches behind them, which wear on every close.
- Supply behind the appliance — An outlet nobody can reach goes unchecked for months.
- Airflow through the cabinetry — Blocked vents let heat build until the appliance protects itself.
- Controls and the heating side — Last in order and the only group that is never owner work.

Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Inside cabinetry, a burning smell or a mark on the trim is a reason to stop using the appliance now rather than to watch it.
What is owner work on these models
Clearing vents, resetting a breaker and wiping the surface the door closes against are owner work. Anything requiring the appliance to come out of its surround is not, because it has to go back square to seal at all.
