The short answer
A Blomberg heat-pump dryer that will not start is usually being held by a condition rather than a failure: a door not latched, a full condensate tank, or a tripped breaker. Check those three first. The door switch is the most likely part to have genuinely failed, and it sits well ahead of the control board.
What you observe
- No lights and no response — No power arriving at the machine.
- Lights on but the drum will not turn — Power is present and a start condition is unmet.
- A fault shown as soon as start is pressed — The machine is reporting its condition rather than failing.

Causes, most likely first on this brand
- The door not latched onto its switch — First: a door pushed rather than closed leaves the switch open, and the machine will not begin. Lint around the catch makes this worse over time.
- A full condensate tank — Second, and specific to this platform: with nowhere to put the water it is about to remove, the machine refuses to start by design rather than by fault.
- No power or a tripped breaker — Third. A dryer draws a real load at start, and a tripped breaker or a light extension lead leaves it dead or clicking.

Unplug the dryer before cleaning the door switch or opening any cover — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Never tape or wedge the door switch closed to force a cycle: it stops the drum when the door opens. If the breaker trips whenever you reset it, leave it off; that is the fault being reported rather than a nuisance.
When to call a technician
Call when the door latches firmly, the tank is empty and seated, the outlet is proven good and the machine still will not start. A door switch is an inexpensive part and a short job; a control board on a heat-pump machine is a bigger decision, so ask for the total first. Call at once, circuit off, if it trips the breaker.
