The short answer
Read the machine before you read the manual — on a Black+Decker dryer, a leaking dryer is nearly always a condensate path problem, and the tank is the first thing to look at. Emptying a tank, cleaning filters and rinsing a condenser are all owner work and cover most of these; a failed pump is a part.
What you actually see
- Water running down the inside of the door glass — Condensation on the door is normal at the end of a cycle and abnormal only if it pools.
- A damp patch appearing only during a drying cycle — Water that arrives with the cycle and dries afterwards points at the condensate path.
- Damp air and water on the wall behind the machine — A vented machine leaking warm damp air into the room condenses on the nearest cold surface.
