The short answer
On a Bizt refrigerator, will not start or has no power most often comes down to no power at the outlet. Supply leads on this class because compact cabinets are so often on extension leads, switched outlets and shared circuits — the three arrangements that fail silently. Most of what follows is an owner check; it becomes a service call when the outlet is proven good and the cabinet stays completely dead.
What you are actually seeing
- The entries at the end belong to a different fault and send you elsewhere.
- The interior light is out and the panel is dead.
- The light works and the panel is lit, but nothing ever runs and the cabinet slowly warms.
- The cabinet clicks every few minutes and does not settle into a run.
- If instead you see this: The panel is lit and the cabinet is cold — nothing is wrong with starting; read whichever symptom page matches what you are actually seeing.
Ranked causes on a Bizt refrigerator
- Supply leads on this class because compact cabinets are so often on extension leads, switched outlets and shared circuits — the three arrangements that fail silently. Settle one observable question before you use this ranking — manual-defrost versus automatic-defrost: exposed cooling tubing or a plain metal plate in the freezer means manual-defrost, while a rear panel with vents and no visible tubing means automatic-defrost. Look at the freezer compartment. A manual-defrost cabinet has bare cooling tubing or a plain metal plate you can see, and it accumulates a visible ice layer over weeks. An automatic-defrost cabinet hides the evaporator behind a rear panel and has vents instead of exposed tubing. On automatic-defrost units, a defrost circuit exists and can fail, which is the classic cause of gradual cooling loss; on manual-defrost units, no defrost circuit exists to fail, so ice accumulation is expected maintenance and the cause list is much shorter.
- No power at the outlet — Why: A tripped breaker, a tripped protective outlet in the same circuit, a switched outlet turned off, or a failed extension lead.
- The cord or plug — Why: A cord pinched behind the cabinet during a move, or a plug that is not fully home.
- A built-in start delay — Why: Cabinets deliberately wait before restarting after a power interruption so the compressor is not started against pressure.
- Demo or showroom mode — Why: Panel lit, light on, buttons answering, no cooling at all.
What to check, and why in this order
- Free checks first, then the ones that need the machine opened.
- Separate a dead cabinet from a live cabinet that will not cool. Light and panel on means the machine has power and the fault is downstream; light and panel off means it does not.
- For a dead cabinet, work outward: plug, cord, outlet, breaker, protective outlet, extension lead. Test the outlet with something you know works.
- For a live cabinet, rule out the two settings that imitate failure: demo mode and a control set to off.
Checks you can safely do yourself
- Stop at the first step that would need a meter on live terminals.
- Plug a lamp or a phone charger into the same outlet. If it does not work either, the fault is the outlet or the breaker and the cabinet is fine. — Number: 1 — Tools: a lamp or charger — Time: a few minutes
- Check the breaker panel, and check for a tripped protective outlet in the same circuit — often in a garage, a bathroom or a nearby wall. — Number: 2 — Tools: torch — Time: under ten minutes
- Push the plug firmly home and look at the whole length of the cord for pinching, especially where the cabinet meets the wall. — Number: 3 — Tools: torch — Time: a few minutes
Before you start
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Nothing below asks you to put a meter on live terminals, and nothing below asks you to defeat a door switch or an interlock — those exist to cut power to something that would otherwise hurt you. If the plug, the cord or the outlet is warm, discoloured or smells hot, stop there and have the circuit looked at before you use the refrigerator again.
When to stop and call a technician
The line is whether the next step needs live testing, sealed-system access or a part you cannot verify. Call for the sealed system, and anything that does not respond to a full manual defrost and a clean, or when:
the outlet is proven good and the cabinet stays completely dead you hear a click every few minutes with no run following it the cabinet trips the breaker when it is plugged in

Common BIZT Refrigerator Problems (bizt-refrigerator-problems)
This page is generalized across the Bizt refrigerator range: it is written for the brand and the fault, not for one family or one model number. It carries no model-specific code table, wiring detail or part number, and no measured failure rate, because no measured snapshot was available here. Where a family- or model-specific page exists beneath this one, the links below go down to it.
