What this usually is
When a Bevoi BVIREF cabinet warms up but the compressor is audible, the cold side is working and the air side is not. On the BVIREF platform that means frost across the evaporator or a fan that has stopped turning, and only after both are cleared does refrigerant enter the picture.
What you observe on these models
- The cabinet is warm but the compressor is clearly running — You can hear it and feel warmth at the condenser, yet the air inside never gets cold.
- A solid sheet of frost on the freezer rear panel — Not the light dusting a door left ajar produces, but a continuous sheet. That sheet is the airflow blockage, visible.
- The fresh-food side warms before the freezer does — On a single-evaporator cabinet the fresh-food compartment is fed last, so it fails first.
- NEAR MISS — the cabinet is silent and nothing is cold — No hum, no fan, no light behind the controls means a supply, start-relay or main-board fault, and that is a different page.

- Frosted evaporator from a stalled defrost cycle — First on this family, and the reason the whole order is what it is.

- 1. Open the freezer and listen for the evaporator fan — Hold the door switch closed by hand.
- 2. Look at the freezer rear panel for frost — If the fan runs and there is a frost sheet, the defrost system is your fault.
- 3. Pull the unit out and check the condenser coil and its fan — Dust-blinded coils and a stalled condenser fan are both visible without a meter, and both are cheap.

Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Call once the two freezer-side checks and the condenser check are clean, because what is left is sensor and control work that needs a meter and a wiring diagram. Call immediately, without further testing, if you smell burning, see oil outside the tubing at the compressor, or the cabinet is warm and the compressor is hot and silent — all three point at the sealed system or the compressor itself, where the tools and the licence stop being owner tools.
