The short version
When the TM microwave's door stops closing properly, stops latching, or shows damage to its inner face, the correct response is to stop using the appliance. The door, its frame and its latch form a shielding system, and it is not something an owner adjusts.
The observable signs on this platform
- A visible gap between the door and the cabinet face — Stop using the appliance. A door that does not sit flat against the flange is a shielding question, not a fit-and-finish one.
- Damage to the inner door panel — a dent, a crack, a hole in the screen — Stop using the appliance immediately. This is the one symptom on the page with no owner-side action at all.
- The door drops or sags when opened — Hinge wear. It changes how the door meets the frame and it will eventually stop the machine latching.

Causes, most likely first on the TM family

- Door frame bent or the inner panel cracked — Fourth. This is the cause that ends use of the appliance rather than starting a repair, because the door is part of the shielding rather than merely a cover.

- 1. Look at the inner door panel and the cavity flange in good light — You are looking for dents, cracks, holes in the screen and a bent frame.
- 2. Clean the latch recess and the door face — Crumbs and baked residue are the common and fixable finding.
- 3. Check the door for sag with it held open — Lift gently at the outer edge.

Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel. A capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off — and in a microwave that charge is lethal, so the cabinet stays closed regardless of what the door is doing. Never run a microwave whose door is damaged, bent, cracked or will not latch, and never tape, wedge or hold a door to make the machine run.

When to call a technician
Call as soon as cleaning fails to restore a positive latch, and stop using the appliance immediately if the door is bent, cracked, dented or missing any part of its inner screen. There is no owner-side adjustment here: the door is part of the shielding system, and a technician assesses whether it can be repaired or whether the unit should be retired. Do not run the machine in the meantime.
