The short answer
A Beko condenser or heat-pump dryer that tumbles without drying has usually lost its ability to remove water rather than its ability to make heat: a full condensate tank, a blocked condenser unit or a lint-choked filter. All three are owner maintenance. A failed element or a refrigerant-circuit fault is last on the list.
What you observe
- Clothes come out warm and still damp — Heat is present, moisture removal is not.
- The water tank is full or the warning light is on — The machine has nowhere to put the water it extracts.
- The cycle runs very long or stops early — A sensing programme that never reaches dry either extends or gives up.
- NEAR MISS — the drum turns and the air is cold from the start — No heat at all is a different fault and points at the element or a thermal cut-out.
Causes, most likely first on this brand
- A full condensate tank or a blocked drain hose — First, and specific to this platform: with nowhere to put the water, the machine cannot dry no matter how well it heats. On models plumbed to a drain, a kinked or high hose does the same thing.
- A lint-blocked condenser unit — Second. The condenser is a fine-finned block behind a door at the base, and lint mats across its face. Airflow through it collapses, and with it the machine's ability to condense.
- A clogged door filter or filter housing — Third: the primary filter is easy to clean and gets cleaned, while the secondary filter and the housing beneath are routinely forgotten.
- A heating element, thermal cut-out or refrigerant-circuit fault — Last. On a heat-pump machine this is not owner territory at all, and on a condenser machine a cut-out usually opens because the airflow faults above were already present.
Check in this order, and why
- Empty the water tank first — It is the fastest check and a common single cause.
- Open the base door and look at the condenser face — A grey lint mat across the fins is visible immediately.
- Clean the door filter and look into the housing — The housing holds far more than the filter does.
- Only then suspect the heating system — On a heat-pump machine that check belongs to a technician.

- Empty the condensate tank and refit it fully — A tank not seated properly reads as full even when it is empty.

Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the dryer before removing the condenser unit or any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Do not run a condenser dryer with the condenser removed or its door open: the airflow path is part of the design and running without it overheats the cabinet. Never attempt work on the sealed refrigerant circuit of a heat-pump machine.
When to call a technician
Call when the tank is empty, the filters and the condenser are clean, the drain hose is clear, and clothes still come out damp. On a condenser machine that points at the element or a thermal cut-out; on a heat-pump machine it points at the sealed circuit, which is licensed work. Call at once if you smell scorching or the cabinet is too hot to touch.
