What this family is
The BC line covers the refrigerator models in the table below. The faults that dominate a cabinet of this kind are airflow faults rather than refrigerant ones: a stalled defrost and a stopped fan account for most of what is reported.
Problems on these models, and where each is covered
- No ice, or poor ice — No ice at all points upstream — supply, filter, bail arm. Small or hollow cubes mean water arrives and something is short. Covered on the Bangson BC Refrigerator: Ice Maker Fault page. — Slug: bangson-bangson-refrigerator-bc-refrigerator-ice-production
- Water inside or under the cabinet — Under the crisper drawers is the defrost drain; at the back with a dry interior is the fill line or the drain pan. Covered on the Bangson BC Refrigerator: Water Leak page. — Slug: bangson-bangson-refrigerator-bc-refrigerator-water-leak
- A new or growing noise — A sound that stops when the freezer door opens is that fan; one that carries on is behind the lower rear panel. Covered on the Bangson BC Refrigerator: Abnormal Noise or Vibration page. — Slug: bangson-bangson-refrigerator-bc-refrigerator-abnormal-noise
Problem classes in order on the BC line
- No ice, or poor ice — Leads the list: an evaporator under ice starves every compartment of air, and the defrost cycle stalls quietly rather than failing outright.
- Water inside or under the cabinet — Second: water that has lost its route out, appearing under the drawers or on the floor once the drain blocks.
- A new or growing noise — Third: noise, usually a fan meeting ice or the cabinet passing vibration into the furniture beside it.

General guidance| Component or system | Relative frequency |
|---|---|
| Defrost cycle and evaporator airflow | most reported |
| Defrost drain and water routing | common |
| Evaporator and condenser fans | common |
| Icemaker water supply and filter | less common |
| Sealed system and compressor | uncommon |
What is owner work here
On the BC line a manual defrost, a condenser clean, a gasket test, a drain flush and every check upstream of the icemaker are owner work. The service side starts behind the evaporator cover, and the sealed system is licensed work in every case.
