The short answer
The Arctic Wind ATLMG washer family covers a single listing in the roster below, and on that platform the pressure side and the gravity side leak in completely different ways. Most washer leaks come from four places, and three of them can be seen without the machine being opened at all. The checks below are arranged so the machine is only moved once and only opened if the visible causes are clean.
What you observe
- Foam rather than water at the door or under the cabinet — Excess suds escape past seals that water alone would never pass. The fix is dosing rather than parts, and the evidence is the foam itself.
- Water running down the back of the cabinet — A fitting at the top rear where the hoses connect, or the dispenser housing behind the drawer, rather than anything low down in the machine.
- A damp patch that only appears under a heavy load — Water level rises with the load, so a seal or a fitting that is sound on a small wash can be overtopped on a full one.
- Rust or a water mark on the floor that predates the leak — The machine has been weeping for longer than anyone noticed. It changes nothing about the diagnosis but a great deal about how long the floor has been wet.
- NEAR MISS — water at the door with no leak anywhere else — Condensation and splash from an overloaded drum both wet the door area without being a leak, so confirm the water is arriving rather than escaping.
Causes, most likely first on the ATLMG line
- Inlet hose fittings or the tap connection — Ranked first on the ATLMG line, because these are the only joints on the machine that are under mains pressure all the time, so a leak here runs whether or not the machine is in use and delivers far more water than any other cause on the list. This label covers one listing, so there is no variant to rule out first and the order below goes straight at the fault.
- Door seal split, perished or trapping debris — Second on the ATLMG line, because the lower front of a front-loading seal takes the water, the grit and the door closing on laundry, so it fails there first, and a split of a few millimetres leaks only when the drum is moving.
- Dispenser drawer or its housing overflowing — Third on the ATLMG line, because the siphon in the drawer has to clear itself every wash, and residue eventually stops it, at which point the water backs out of the front instead of going down.
- Tub seal or pump housing cracked — Last on the ATLMG line, because it is the only leak on the list that grows steadily on every programme, and it is usually announced by the bearing noise that caused it.
Check in this order, and why
- Establish when the water appears — Fill, wash, spin or idle. Each names a different pressure regime in the machine, and that single observation rules out most of the shortlist before anything is moved.
- Dry everything and lay paper down — Paper towel across the floor under the front, the back and each side turns an invisible path into a map of where the water first reaches the floor.
- Check the inlet hose fittings and the tap — Dry both ends of each hose, run a fill, and look again. Any wetness under mains pressure is the most urgent thing here and is fixed before anything else is considered.
- Watch a full cycle with the machine pulled out — Only once the visible causes are clean is it worth the time. With the cabinet clear of the wall and a torch, the pump housing, hose clips and tub can be watched as the cycle works through.
Before any panel comes off
Safety
Close both taps and unplug the appliance before any hose or panel is touched — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Most of a washing machine’s weight is concrete bolted at the top of the tub, which makes it unstable once it is out of its space and tilted. Get help before it moves, keep the door interlock exactly as you found it, and never run the machine with a panel off to see what happens..

When this stops being an owner job
Call immediately for any leak that continues while the machine is idle and the taps are open, since that is mains pressure and the volume it can deliver in a day is the real cost. Close the taps now if the floor wets while nothing is running, and keep them closed between washes until the repair is made.
