The short answer
A leak from the Arctic Wind ABMM refrigerator is diagnosed by where the water appears. Inside under the drawers is a drain fault, out at the front is usually a drain or a door problem, and behind the cabinet is the supply line - three different jobs with three different answers.
What you see on the ABMM line
- Water on the floor behind the cabinet — Points at the supply line or the drain pan rather than at anything in the compartment.
- A sheet of ice on the freezer floor — Melt water refreezing because it cannot get to the drain.
- Condensation on the ceiling and the back wall — Warm air getting in rather than water failing to get out.
- NEAR MISS - the cabinet is also warm — Water with a warm cabinet is usually a defrost system fault seen from the other side; start from the cooling page.

- Drain pan cracked, overfull or out of position — Most likely here: It is the usual answer when the floor is wet at the back and the compartment inside is completely dry. - Water supply line, inlet valve or filter housing leaking — Second: This is the leak that appears behind the cabinet rather than in it, and it is the one that does real damage because it does not stop.
- Blocked drain trough or a damaged drain tube behind the liner — Third: The trough beneath the evaporator and the tube that leaves it sit behind the rear panel, and a tube that has come off its spigot drains into the insulation instead.
Check in this order, and why
- First - Unplug and check the pan under the unit for position and for cracks — A pan out of its cradle or split at a corner is a visible fault and it accounts for water at the back only. That is the order the roster on this page dictates, not a generic sequence.
- Second - Pull the unit out and look at the wall valve, the line and the inlet valve for damp — Any damp or mineral crust at a joint names it; a dry line sends you back inside the cabinet.
- Third - Note whether flushing the drain hole changed anything at all — A flush that runs through freely with the leak continuing means the fault is behind the panel.

Safety
Power off at the plug or the breaker, and turn off the water at the wall before the unit is moved. Water on a kitchen floor next to an appliance that is being pulled out is a slip hazard and an electrical one at the same time, so dry the floor first and take the unit out with two people. Do not run the machine with the rear panel off to watch where the water goes.

When to call a technician
Call when the drain flushes through freely and the water keeps coming, because the remaining fault is at the trough or the drain tube behind the rear panel and getting there means the evaporator exposed. Call the same day for any leak at the supply line that you cannot stop at the wall valve, and for water reaching an electrical outlet or running under a neighbouring appliance.
