The short answer
Most water complaints on the Arctic Wind ABME refrigerator are drainage rather than plumbing. Frost melts on schedule, runs to a drain hole, down a tube and into a pan over the compressor where it evaporates - and anywhere that path is interrupted, the water arrives somewhere you can see it.
What you see on the ABME line
- Water on the floor behind the cabinet — Points at the supply line or the drain pan rather than at anything in the compartment.
- A sheet of ice on the freezer floor — Melt water refreezing because it cannot get to the drain.
- Condensation on the ceiling and the back wall — Warm air getting in rather than water failing to get out.
- NEAR MISS - the cabinet is also warm — Water with a warm cabinet is usually a defrost system fault seen from the other side; start from the cooling page.

Check in this order, and why
- First - Run a sheet of paper round the seal, and check nothing is holding the door open — Drag all round is a good seal; a section that slides free is the leak, and condensation will be worst nearest it. That is the order the roster on this page dictates, not a generic sequence.
- Second - Unplug and check the pan under the unit for position and for cracks — A pan out of its cradle or split at a corner is a visible fault and it accounts for water at the back only.
- Third - Note whether flushing the drain hole changed anything at all — A flush that runs through freely with the leak continuing means the fault is behind the panel.
Before you open anything
Safety
Power off at the plug or the breaker, and turn off the water at the wall before the unit is moved. Water on a kitchen floor next to an appliance that is being pulled out is a slip hazard and an electrical one at the same time, so dry the floor first and take the unit out with two people. Do not run the machine with the rear panel off to watch where the water goes.

When to call a technician
Call if the leak has been running long enough to reach flooring or cabinetry, and call if clearing the drain has fixed it twice already - a drain that blocks repeatedly is usually a trough or a tube fault upstream rather than debris at the hole. A slow drip inside the cabinet is not an emergency, but standing water on the floor is.
