The short answer

When to call a technician
Call when a leak repeats after a full defrost, a cleared drain and a levelled cabinet, because that pattern eliminates everything an owner can reach. Call immediately if you find water reaching the supply cord or a socket, and switch the circuit off before you touch anything: at that point the leak has stopped being a nuisance and become a hazard.
