What the owner notices
- Hollow, undersized or cloudy cubes — Cubes that crumble or come out half-formed point at how much water arrives per cycle rather than at the freezing.
- The shut-off arm or sensor is holding the cycle off — The mechanism reads the bin as full, and it will keep doing so until the arm is freed or the sensor window cleared.
- Water pooling under the bin or freezing in the fill tube — A partly frozen fill tube is the cause that gets worse cycle by cycle until it stops production entirely.

- Water filter past its service life — First on the BC line because the filter is the only consumable in the water path. It restricts long before it blocks, and ice production is what notices first.
- Supply valve, line kink or low household pressure — Second because everything upstream of the appliance fails identically on every model in the matrix — a valve part-closed after other work, a line pinched when the cabinet was last moved.
- Shut-off arm or bin sensor holding the cycle off — Third because no failure has occurred at all: the module has simply been told the bin is full, and clearing it takes a hand rather than a part.
- Freezer temperature, fill valve or module failure — Fourth because this is the group that needs tools and time, and it is where the diagnosis stops being an owner job.

- Check when the filter was last changed and change it if it is due — It is the one consumable in the path, and replacing it is both the test and the repair.
- Check the household shut-off valve and the line behind the cabinet — A valve part closed after other work and a line kinked by a move restrict flow the same way.
- Lift the bin and look at the arm and the sensor — It is free, and it is the cause that turns most working modules into unnecessary part orders.
- Check freezer temperature and listen for the fill — Last: these need time and access, and they are where a technician takes over.

Switch the appliance off at the breaker or unplug it before working on the module; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Shut the water off at the household valve first, and keep a towel under the connection — the line stays pressurised after the appliance is dead.
