The short answer on F3 E2
F3 E2 means there may be a problem with the oven temperature sensor, the warming drawer sensor on models that have one, or the associated wiring. If your range has a warming drawer, the first job is working out which compartment is affected; do not use either until F3 E2 is cleared.

| F3 E2 | There may be a problem with the Oven Temperature Sensor, the Warming Drawer Sensor (if so equipped), or the associated wiring. |
Behaviour that comes with F3 E2
- F3 E2 with the main oven refusing to heat — The oven sensor circuit is the likelier suspect.
- A warming drawer that stays cold or runs too hot — The drawer sensor circuit is the likelier suspect.
- The code as soon as the drawer is switched on — The control flags the drawer sensor as it starts the drawer.
- Both compartments affected — A shared wiring fault, or the control reading both badly.
Why F3 E2 appears, in likelihood order
- The oven temperature sensor — First on models without a drawer, and when the main oven is the one misbehaving.
- The warming drawer sensor — First when the drawer is the compartment affected.
- Wiring to either sensor — Third: the drawer sensor's lead runs low in the range, where it can be pinched or soaked.
- Anything beyond the sensors and wiring — The documentation lists nothing else for this code, so other parts come last.
Diagnosing F3 E2: the order that saves time
- Confirm whether your range has a warming drawer — A storage drawer is not a warming drawer; the owner's manual says which you have.
- Work out which compartment misbehaves — The oven or the drawer points to its own sensor.
- Inspect the visible sensor and its lead — The oven sensor is on the cavity wall; the drawer sensor is usually inside the drawer cavity.
- Measure the suspect sensor — With the power off and the sensor unplugged.
Clearing F3 E2 and checking it safely
- Identify your drawer — A warming drawer has its own setting on the control; a storage drawer does not.

- Reset the range — Breaker off for a minute, then on.

- Test each compartment separately — Run a short bake, then switch on the drawer, and note which brings back F3 E2.
About 20 min
- Inspect the affected sensor, power off — Look for a bent probe or a pinched or wet lead; the drawer cavity can collect spills.

Safety on this appliance
Safety
Switch off the breaker or unplug the range before removing any sensor or panel; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. A warming drawer can be hot after use, so let it cool before reaching inside. On a gas range, if you smell gas, do not switch anything on or off, leave the building, and call the gas utility or emergency services from outside.
Reset or repair: where the line is
Call if F3 E2 returns after a reset, if you cannot tell which compartment is affected, or if the affected sensor tests good. The drawer sensor's wiring runs low in the range and is reached by pulling the range out, which is a technician task.

Model coverage and limits
This reading of F3 E2 applies to Amana ovens whose control reports the oven temperature sensor, the warming drawer sensor where fitted, or their wiring with this code, as the table states. Models without a warming drawer narrow to the oven sensor, and a model-specific page, where one exists, is the better guide. None is listed for F3 E2 yet; start at the Amana oven code index below.
