The short answer for this line

What this looks like on these models
- Standing water in the sump before a cycle — The machine is starting each wash with the last load in it.

Causes in likelihood order on this platform

- Spin each arm by hand and check every jet — Reload and check nothing tall fouls the upper arm as it turns; that single interference explains most one-sided results.
- Run a deliberately light load — Load half of what you normally would, with nothing nested and nothing over the arm path, and run the same cycle. A clean result proves loading rather than machinery.
- Lift the filter out and look at it — Run a hand round the sump after the filter is out. Debris sitting below the filter reaches the pump, and that is a different repair from a dirty mesh.
