The short answer
On the TA line a puddle is usually a routing problem rather than a broken part: the gasket is the whole seal on a cabinet this size, so condensation at the door line ranks ahead of anything internal. Two of the likely causes are owner-checkable with nothing but an empty cabinet, and only the last needs a technician.
What the owner actually sees
- Water only after the unit has been open or switched off — Nothing during normal running, then a puddle after a stop.
- A damp patch under the machinery end — Spread rather than pooled, and it dries and returns on its own rhythm.
- Beads of water on the outside panels — The outer skin is cold enough to sweat in the room it stands in.
- NEAR MISS - water only once, right after a move — A unit laid down or carried warm sheds what it was holding. One puddle after a move is not a fault; a second one is.
What it usually turns out to be, in order
- Warm air getting past the door or lid seal — Ranked first on this line: a compact cabinet has one gasket doing all the sealing, and warm room air that reaches a cold surface gives up its moisture there.
- A blocked condensate drain path — Next, and close behind: a restricted drain does not stop the water, it delays it.
- The door not latching fully — Then: this differs from a seal fault in that the gasket is fine; the door is simply not closed onto it, so the fix is loading or a hinge adjustment rather than a part.
- A split drain hose or a failed seam — Last, and the reason the order matters: once the simple causes are excluded, what is left is a route the water should not have: a hose that has hardened and split, or a seam that has opened.
Working order, and the reason for it
- Test the seal along its whole length — Close the door on a strip of paper at several points and pull. Where it slides out with no resistance the gasket is not making contact, and that is where the condensation forms.
- Clear and test the compartment drain — With the unit emptied, look for standing water in the trough before you touch anything. A trough that is wet while the plate is dry means the outlet, not the seal.
- Watch the door close on its own — Close the door and let go without pushing. It should pull itself onto the seal; a door that stays a fraction open, or that springs back, is the fault.
Before you open anything
Safety
Isolate the unit at the plug or the breaker before any panel comes off - a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Mop the floor first: standing water underneath a cabinet you are about to tip or move is how this job hurts people.

Where owner work ends
Call once the drain has been proven clear, the cabinet proven level and the compartment emptied, and the water is still arriving: what remains is behind a panel. Call straight away if the water is anywhere near the machinery end, if a breaker trips, or if the cabinet is warm as well as wet.
