GE Gas Range Knob Recall 2023 — Knobs Can Be Bumped to ON Position
Hazard: The front-mounted control knobs can be inadvertently turned to a burner position if bumped, pushed, or snagged by something (pets, cleaning cloths, children). This releases unignited gas, posing fire and explosion risks. GE received 286 reports of knobs being inadvertently turned on, including 4 fires.
Remedy: Free replacement knob set with an improved design requiring more deliberate engagement to turn. GE ships the knobs directly to registered owners with installation instructions, or arranges technician installation for those who prefer it.
Our certified technicians serve the Bay Area and Sacramento. Free diagnostic visit — we identify the problem, quote the repair, and fix it on the spot in most cases. No hidden fees.
