Thermal / thermistor error

Access the thermistor sensor — on LG dishwashers it is mounted in the tub sump area near the heating element
Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance — at room temperature (77F/25C) it should read approximately 10k ohms (NTC type)
Check the sensor wiring for corrosion or damage from exposure to moisture and detergent chemicals in the sump area
Verify the heating element is not shorted to ground — a leaking element can send false temperature signals through the chassis
If the sensor tests within spec, the main board analog input may be failed — this requires board replacement
Pro Diagnostic Tip
Hard water scale can coat the thermistor probe and insulate it from the actual water temperature, causing a delayed or inaccurate reading. If tE appears intermittently and your area has hard water (Sacramento averages 16 grains), descale the sensor probe with white vinegar before replacing it.
