The short answer
A combined washer-dryer has to satisfy two machines' worth of conditions in one programme, so it stalls more readily than either alone. It is almost always waiting on drain, on the lock, or on the ability to shed heat. Note whether it stalls in the wash half or the dry half: a stall before spin points at drain or the lock, and a stall in the drying phase points at condensing or airflow. On a Splendide washer-dryer combo the cause that ranks first is lock not confirming, so the programme will not advance.
What you observe
- The machine runs far longer than the time shown — Usually a slow fill or a drying phase that cannot reach its target.

Safety
Unplug the machine or switch off its breaker before opening a filter or reaching behind it, and shut both taps first. Never force a locked door — wait for the lock to release rather than defeating it.
When to call a technician
Call when every owner check is clear, and sooner if the machine trips the breaker or the door lock never releases at all. In a coach or a boat, mention the installation when you book: the hookup, the access and the mounting are all part of the diagnosis, and not every technician works on them.
