The answer first
Water under a refrigerator comes from one of three places: the defrost drain, the water line, or condensation. On this machine the first suspect is defrost drain blocked.
What you observe
- Water under the crisper drawers inside the cabinet — Classic blocked defrost drain: the water backs up and over.
- A puddle on the floor at the front — Water has run forward under the cabinet, which usually means the drain or the pan.
- A puddle at the back or under one corner — Points at the supply line, the valve or a cabinet that is out of level.
- NEAR MISS — water appears only when the dispenser is used — That is the dispenser line or its drip tray, and it has its own fix.
Causes, most likely first on a Silhouette Pro refrigerator
- Defrost drain blocked — When the drain blocks, defrost water backs up under the drawers and then runs forward onto the floor. Ranked first on a Silhouette Pro refrigerator: it fails slowly, so the first sign is usually ice under the drawers rather than a puddle.
- Water line, filter head or inlet valve leaking — A line pinched when the machine was pushed back can split and leak only under pressure.
- Door seal leaking, so humid air condenses inside — This produces water inside the cabinet with no plumbing involved at all.
- Drain pan cracked, displaced or overflowing — In a humid room the pan can simply be given more water than it can evaporate.
Check in this order, and why
- Look for water or ice under the crisper drawers at the back of the cabinet — Pour a little warm water into the drain opening and see whether it clears.
- Pull the cabinet out and dry every joint, then look again after an hour — Follow the line from the shut-off valve all the way to the cabinet.
- Close the door on a sheet of paper right round both doors — Anywhere the paper slides out freely is where the humid air gets in.
What an owner can safely check
- Empty the lower shelves and flush the drain opening at the back with warm water from a turkey baster — Warm water clears an ice plug and most debris. Never force wire down the drain.
Tools: turkey baster, warm water, towelsAbout 30 min
- Dry the filter head, the valve and every push-fit joint, then check them again after an hour with a torch — A joint that is wet again is the leak. Shut the supply valve off if you find one.
Tools: torch, paper towelAbout 25 min
- STOP HERE if the next check needs a panel off or a meter on live terminals — That is where the owner checks end and a service call begins, whatever the ranking says.
Before you open anything
Safety
Disconnect power at the plug or the breaker before opening anything, and give a capacitor time to bleed down before you reach past a board. Nothing sharp goes near an iced evaporator: thin tubing, refrigerant under pressure, no home repair. Refrigerant work is licensed work, so the sealed system is where the owner job ends. Empty the cabinet before you move it.
When to call a technician
Call when you have cleared the drain, checked the seals, levelled the cabinet and dried every joint and the water still returns, because what is left is the inlet valve, the drain tube inside the insulation, or the sealed side. Shut the water supply off in the meantime. Pro-series hardware is usually serviceable and the parts are usually available, which makes a repair the right call far more often than it is on an entry compact unit.

What this page does not cover
This is the generalised Silhouette Pro refrigerator page. A family- or model-specific page, where one exists, is linked above and is the more precise answer for your unit. Left out on purpose: part numbers, connector colours, the order panels come off in, and every torque figure — a generalised page cannot be right about any of them.
