The short answer
Start here -- on an Icyglee refrigerator, a cabinet that runs without getting cold points first at heat with nowhere to go, not at a dead compressor. If that is clean, a stalled defrost cycle is next. Most causes below are owner checks needing no tools and no panel off; the last is a service call.
What you are looking at
- The cabinet is warm but the unit is clearly running — You can hear the compressor; the air inside is not cold.
- The compressor never switches off — It runs without ever satisfying the control.
- NEAR MISS -- the freezer is cold and only the fresh side is warm — That points at the damper or the air path between compartments, a narrower fault than this page.
Causes, most likely first on this kind of unit
- The condenser cannot reject its heat — Heat taken out of the cabinet has to leave through the condenser. First here, because on an Icyglee beverage cabinet that is opened all day it is the cause an owner most often creates by accident, and it needs no tools to rule out.
- The evaporator is frosted over — Cold reaches the cabinet as air moving across the evaporator. This rank, because frost that has closed the air path gives exactly this symptom with everything else healthy.
- The door is not sealing — A gasket that has taken a set, a dropped hinge, or a shelf holding the door off its face lets warm humid air in continuously. Placed here: warm air leaking in explains a running compressor and a warm box at once.
- The sealed system or the compressor — A refrigerant leak, a blocked capillary or a compressor that will not pump leaves a cabinet that hums and stays warm. Last, and that is the point of the order: it is the least common cause and the most expensive, which is why it is checked last.
Check in this order, and why
- Feel the condenser and the air around it — A coil that is hot with no breathing room answers the question before you touch anything else.
- Look for a frost sheet where the cold is made — A solid sheet rather than a light dusting confirms it, and separates this cause from the fan.
- Only after the checks above are clean — Oil at the compressor, or a coil that never warms at all, moves this to the front -- and it is a service call.
What an owner can safely check
- Clear the condenser and give the unit room — Vacuum the coil and grille, then pull the cabinet out far enough for hot air to escape.
Tools: vacuum, soft brushAbout 20 min
- Paper-test the door seal all the way round — Check top, both sides and bottom, and clear any shelf holding the door off its face.
About 10 min
- Stand a thermometer in a glass of water inside — Read it hours later rather than trusting the panel; it separates a cooling fault from a control fault.

- STOP HERE -- the next step needs a meter on live terminals — Windings, start devices and sealed-system pressures are technician work.
Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the unit or switch off its breaker before removing any panel; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off.
When to call a technician
Call once the condenser, the seal, the set point and a full defrost are all ruled out.

What this page does not cover
This page covers the Icyglee refrigerator as a class, not one family or model line. Where a family- or model-specific page exists for your unit it is the more specific answer -- go there first if your model is named. Deliberately not here: wiring colours, defrost-board part numbers, compressor start devices and the panel-removal sequence, all of which differ by family.
