The short answer

What you observe
- No ice at all, and the tray is dry — Nothing is arriving. That points at supply, at a switch or at a maker that was never fitted.

- Put a thermometer in the freezer overnight and read it in the morning — It separates an ice-maker fault from a refrigeration fault with one measurement.
- Look for an ice plug at the fill tube where it enters the ice maker — A visible plug is a confirmed cause and it explains a maker that filled yesterday and not today.

Before you open anything
Safety
Shut the water supply valve before disconnecting any line, and have a towel and a bowl ready because the line stays charged after the valve closes. Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel near the ice maker. Never thaw a frozen fill tube with a flame, a heat gun or a naked bulb: the liner and the tube are plastic and they will deform long before the ice gives up.
When to call a technician
Call when the supply is proven good, the freezer is cold enough and the mould still will not release, because that puts the fault in the module and it is replaced as an assembly. Call sooner if you find water anywhere it should not be, or if the freezer is sitting warm, because then the ice is a symptom of something larger and the cold matters more than the cubes do.
