The short answer
The Crosley CDBW family is a single machine, so a start fault can be worked as a fixed sequence. What you observe

Causes, most likely first on this family
- Supply: breaker, wall switch or junction box — First, because a hardwired machine gives no easy way to see a supply fault from the front.
- Door latch switch not making — Second, and the top machine fault: the control does nothing until it makes.
- Control lock or delay start — Third, and set by accident more often than owners expect.
- Water supply valve closed — Fourth: the machine can begin and stall, which reads as a failure to start.
- Thermal fuse or control board — Last, and service work once the gates above are clear.
Check in this order, and why
- Check the breaker and any wall switch — Free, and the step most often skipped.
- Press the door firmly closed while pressing start — A machine that runs only that way has named the latch switch.
- Look for a control lock or delay on the panel — Both are cleared from the front.
- Confirm the supply valve under the sink is open — Left until last, because a lit panel that refuses is rarely a water problem.
Before you open anything
Safety
Switch off the dishwasher at its breaker before removing the kick panel or the pump access; a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off, and the junction box under these machines shares its space with the water. Shut the supply valve under the sink first, expect standing water in the sump, and never bypass the door latch switch to run the machine open.

When to call a technician
