The Arieta ARWS refrigerator family covers a single listing in the roster below, and on that platform a cabinet that runs without getting cold is usually a delivery problem rather than a sealed-system one. When a refrigerator stops holding temperature, the cheapest causes are also the most common, which is unusual enough to be worth knowing before a technician is called. Airflow, the door and the condenser account for most of it; the compressor is blamed far more often than it fails.
The observables
- The fresh-food compartment is warm while the freezer is still hard-frozen — Cold is being made but not delivered. On the great majority of cabinets both compartments are fed from one evaporator, so this is an air-path fault rather than a sealed-system one.
- The condenser coil or the grille at the bottom is packed with dust — Heat has to leave the machine somewhere. A blanketed coil raises head pressure, runs the compressor hot and shows up first as a cabinet that has quietly lost a few degrees.
- No sound at all from inside the freezer with the door held open — The evaporator fan should run with the door switch pressed. Silence there, with the compressor plainly running, is a fan or a switch and both are reachable.
- NEAR MISS — the machine is silent and nothing is cold at all — No compressor sound, no fan, no light behaviour: that is a power, relay or control fault rather than the cooling path, and it is a different page from this one.
Causes, most likely first on the ARWS line
- Airflow blocked by frost on the evaporator — Ranked first here, because the coil ices in normal use and depends on a cycle running properly to clear it, so a cycle that is merely late rather than absent will close the air path over weeks without any warning. This label covers one listing, so there is no variant to rule out first and the order below goes straight at the fault.
- Evaporator fan not running — Second here, because it is the only part in the cold half of the machine that has to keep turning, and when it stops the cabinet keeps making cold and stops delivering any of it.
- Condenser coil blanketed with dust, or the condenser fan stopped — Third here, because heat can only leave through that coil, so a felt of dust and pet hair works as insulation in exactly the place the machine needs bare metal.
- Door seal or door alignment letting warm air in continuously — Fourth here: it is the cheapest cause to rule out and the most under-diagnosed one, because a gap that never shows itself when you are looking at the machine is open for every hour you are not.
- Defrost heater, sensor or control no longer completing the cycle — Last here, because it sits behind the frost it causes: the frost is the symptom you can see, and which of the three parts failed is the part of the diagnosis that needs a meter and the panel off.
What to check first, second, third
- Compare the two compartments before anything else — A hard-frozen freezer with a warm fresh-food side is an air-path fault. Both warm is a source fault.
- Pull the machine out and look at the condenser — Dust on the coil and a condenser fan that is not turning are both visible from the back or through the lower grille, and both are owner-serviceable with the machine unplugged.
- Feel the condenser tubing for heat with the compressor running — Warm tubing means the compressor is pumping and the system has charge; tubing at room temperature while the compressor hums is the one reading that points at the sealed system.

Safety
The machine stays plugged in for the listening and the looking. It comes off supply — plug out, or breaker off — before any cover is disturbed, because a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. The condenser fan starts whenever the compressor calls, with no warning and no interlock, so keep hands out of the machine compartment while the machine is plugged in. The condenser tubing runs hot in normal operation.
