On the Alpicool CX refrigerator a complaint that reads as "it runs but nothing is cold" is far more often a condenser fan that has stopped than a failed compressor. The three codes in this family share the CX prefix and differ only in what follows it, running from CX30 to CX50.
The observables on these models
- It is plainly running, and nothing inside is cold — The compressor note is there and the panel is lit; the contents disagree with both.
- It pulls down overnight and gives it all back by the afternoon — That pattern points at the room and at the seal, not at the refrigeration.
- It cools well in one spot and badly in another — Same machine, two results: that is the installation talking, and it is the cheapest fault on this list.
- NEAR MISS — it is silent and dark — Nothing lit, nothing running: that is a power or start fault and belongs on a different page from this one.

- A condenser fan that has stopped — First. Rejecting heat is half convection and half whatever the fan moves, so losing the fan halves the machine without stopping it. The signature is a compressor running hot and long, warm still air at the grille, and a cabinet that gets part of the way down and stalls. - Heat that cannot leave the condenser — Second. The condenser is the cabinet's only way of getting rid of what it has taken out of the food, and it needs moving air to do it. Tucked into a recess or wedged against a wall, it ends up re-breathing its own exhaust: the heat goes round in a circle, the run never ends and the setpoint is never met.
- A loss in the sealed system — Last, always. It is the rarest of these causes and the only one that cannot be touched without recovery equipment and a licence. - Pull it clear and give the condenser open air — Leave it running in the open for an hour and watch whether the compressor starts cycling instead of running continuously. A cabinet that recovers in open air has an installation fault, not a refrigeration fault.

Unplug the cabinet or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. If the cabinet has been laid on its side or its back, stand it upright and leave it standing for some hours before running it.
