Before you open anything
Safety
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before removing any panel — a capacitor can hold a charge after the power is off. Close the isolating valve before undoing any hose, and expect hot water and broken glass in the sump. Leave the anti-flood float and the door latch switch exactly as fitted.
What is owner work on these models, and what is not
Owner work on these models is the filter and sump, the spray arms, the waste connection, the isolating valve and the loading itself. Anything needing the base panel off, a meter on an isolated circuit, or the pump reached is a service call. Water in the base tray or a burning smell means leaving the machine isolated until it is checked.
