How to clear FC E1 yourself#
- Turn the range off at its circuit breaker and leave it off for one full minute.
- Turn the breaker back on.
- Watch for one minute and see whether FC E1 comes back.
- Verify the range operates normally — set a mode and a temperature and confirm it responds.
- Reset your wireless router.
- If the code persists, disconnect power from the router for two minutes and reconnect it, then cut power to the range for two minutes and restore it.
A note on step 1 that does not apply to a countertop appliance: a range is wired to its own circuit, so this is a trip to the panel rather than a plug you can reach. Find the breaker that feeds it before you start, and give it the full minute — a quick flick leaves the control holding the state it was already in.
When to call a technician#
Call when the code outlives the whole sequence. If the router has been power-cycled, other devices connect to it happily from the kitchen, and the range still reports FC E1 after its own two-minute power-down, the problem has moved from the network into the appliance. What remains then is the Wi-Fi module and the wiring that feeds it, both behind the console of a heavy appliance that is hardwired in place.
