What Is the Risk?#

The gas connection at the pressure regulator can develop a slow leak due to a thread sealant defect, creating a risk of gas accumulation, fire, and explosion. Viking received 27 reports of gas odor and 2 reports of flash fire near the connection.

This is a critical safety hazard. If your Viking oven/range is affected, take immediate action as described below. Do not delay — fire-related hazards can cause property damage, injury, or loss of life. CPSC recall remedies are always free — there is no reason to postpone.

Free in-home repair to replace the pressure regulator fitting and apply proper thread sealant. Viking dispatches certified gas technicians. Repair includes full leak testing of all gas connections.

• The repair, replacement, or refund is completely free — you pay nothing for parts or labor.
• You do not need the original receipt for CPSC recalls. The model and serial number are sufficient to verify eligibility.
• The recall applies regardless of whether you are the original purchaser. Second owners, tenants, and landlords are all eligible.
• CPSC recalls never expire. Even if this recall was announced years ago, you can still get the free repair if your unit was never serviced.
